The City Influencer wants to take traditional networking event and crank things up a bit.

We’re excited to announce the first ever monthly business social club for minority entrepreneurs, small business owners and creatives of color in Dallas.

So what is a social club? In the traditional sense of the word, social clubs give individuals with similar interests a way to gather for the purposes of sharing information, ideas, conversations and connections over food and drink.

Cities like New York and Los Angeles have long bee home to some of the world’s most interesting and exclusive member only social clubs.

We felt it was time to bring some of that flavor to the Big D.

The Net, which will take place on the third Tuesday of every month, will offer members monthly, unprecedented networking opportunities with thought leaders and critical decision makers as well as benefits from local shops, airlines, hotels, lifestyle brands, and business services.

The Net kicks off on June 21st and will feature a special pitch session with four dynamic business leaders that will not only share advice and lessons learned, but also their thoughts on the current business climate for Dallasites and those looking to do business here.

We’re excited to introduce you to our esteemed panel of advisors. Meet our next advisor, Heath Oakes

The Most Common Mistake You See New Business Owners or Entrepreneurs Make? The number ONE mistake is thinking too much. I think I was blessed with not being very smart (lol) so when I wanted to do something I just did it and I failed my way forward.  Smarter people tend to think and plan it way too much. Just get started and once you do, you will figure the rest out.  No matter how much you plan you will still make mistakes and have setbacks.  If you plan anything, just plan to fail.

What Are You Currently Working On? I cannot tell that! Lol. I am currently focusing on my book.  It is set to come out in February of 2017 but it will go on presale by this fall.

What Do You Do For Fun? Where Do You Go? I just recently got my private pilot’s license so I really love flying my plane.  It is such a challenge to master the art of flying and I love a challenge.  I mainly fly regionally at the moment until I get more experience.

We are inviting four individuals an opportunity to pitch their current or future business to our esteemed leaders. Shoot us an email by June 15th describing your business and what you most need help with in order to be successful. Our editorial team will review all submissions and announce the selections on Friday, June 17th.

Join The City Influencer on 6/21 to meet and explore ideas with other Dallas entrepreneurs and creatives. You’ll also get an opportunity to learn about membership in The Net and a chance to join that evening as well.
